The Egyptian Factor

We have witnessed the Arab Spring which began in Tunisia and swept across Muslim countries. The President and then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed to all Americans that this was a Democratic movement in which we should all be proud of and support. We watched as leaders were deposed and new supposedly democratic governments were put in place. I watched as our national media praised the movement and the people involved. I became suspicious of the democratic movement when it finally reached Egypt. As all Americans, I watched the news reports of the Egyptian military withdraw from halting the protest and allowed this revolution to take it's course. Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu confused about Washington's silence, asked why would Obama support this dethroning of President Mubarak? President Mubarak was credited for keeping peace between Israel and Egypt and had kept the Muslim Brotherhood suppressed.  I became suspicious of the event when I found through research that the Muslim Brotherhood was behind the revolt.

Today, we see the protest of the people against the newly elected President Mursi. At one time, a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood has enacted Sharia law and ruled with an iron fist. We began to see the Coptic Christians persecuted by the Muslim Brotherhood with repeated claims of Blasphemy. Christians were burned out, and all manner of atrocity acted out upon them including public beheading. Then the brotherhood increasingly began forcing their ultra conservative ways on a modernized society. The people began to revolt against the crackdown.  When the Arab Spring first began, and placed Mursi in power, President Obama praised the Egyptian military for withdrawing and allowing this democratic movement to take place. The new protest against Mursi has resulted in a completely different reaction from President Obama today. President Obama has sent 400 soldiers from Fort Hood Texas to Egypt for a peacekeeping mission due to the fact the Egyptian military has taken the same stance as it did in the Arab Spring. What has changed. Is this movement and revolt against tyranny no longer democratic? Where are the praises for the military decision to withdraw? Why do we now need to send soldiers to protect Mursi? Is there a prophetic connection to what is happening in Egypt?
The prophet Isaiah walked the Earth 2800 years ago. He wrote the prophetic words of our Lord and preached them to warn Israel of impending judgement, the coming of Jesus, and the final days prior to the second coming of Jesus. Is there something that the Lord told Isaiah about Egypt concerning the final days prior to the second coming? We have seen the violence of the Arab Spring in Egypt. City against city, neighbor against neighbor. We witnessed the persecution of the Christians, and the oppression of fellow Muslims. Like most of you, I watched as President Mursi attempted to give himself more power and the people revolted. The next peculiar thing  to occur concerned the Blue Nile. Ethiopia had decided to build a 6,000 megawatt dam which would produce needed energy for their country. Egyptian officials were furious and threatening to wage a war to keep the dam from being built. Political officials were advised that if the dam was built the Blue Nile, Egypt's water source would dry up. Let us examine what the Lord told Isaiah to write.
Isa 19:2  And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians; and they shall fight each man against his brother, and each against his neighbor; city against city, kingdom against kingdom.  I find it interesting that we can read the word of the Lord given 2,800 years ago and it is like reading the newspaper today. What else did the God Daily have to say?
Isa 19:4  And I will shut up Egypt into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, says the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts.

Is it coincidence? No, I believe we are in the end time hours of the final days.
Isa 19:5  And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall fail and dry up.
Isa 19:6  And rivers shall be fouled; the Nile of Egypt will languish and dry up; the reed and the rush shall decay.
We are witnesses to events that have an implication of event that is soon to come upon us. I believe the rapture is at hand brothers and sisters. Look up Jesus is coming to a cloud near you!
